Overview

Most people think the biggest productivity problem is time management. I don’t. I think it’s attention drift.

In this episode, I walk through a tactical workflow for how I’m using OpenClaw (an open-source agent framework running locally) to reinforce my weekly review loop and stay aligned with the goals and strategies I’ve already chosen.

This is not outsourcing your brain. It’s a system that keeps the “long game” in view when the week gets eaten up by urgency.

Key ideas

  • Agents are different from chatbots. You can give them objectives and let them take action, especially when they can read context from your systems.
  • Your notes are the source of truth. If you haven’t defined what “aligned” means, no agent can keep you aligned.
  • Multi-scale review reduces drift. Daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, annual reviews. The agent helps by prompting and reducing friction, not by doing your thinking for you.
  • Mid-period return to plan is where the magic happens. You need a checkpoint to course-correct before the week is over.
  • Warning: an agent will amplify what’s already there. Clarity and discipline become rocket fuel. Vague and reactive becomes faster vagueness and reactivity.
